Loops and Branches of Coexistence States in a Lotka-Volterra Competition Model

چکیده
A two-species Lotka-Volterra competition-diffusion model with spatially inhomogeneous reaction terms is investigated. The two species are assumed to be identical except for their interspecific competition coefficients. Viewing their common diffusion rate μ as a parameter, we describe the bifurcation diagram of the steady states, including stability, in terms of two real functions of μ. We also show that the bifurcation diagram can be rather complicated. Namely, given any two positive integers l and b, the interspecific competition coefficients can be chosen such that there exist at least l bifurcating branches

An Analysis on The Lotka-Volterra Food Chain Model: Stability
The food chain refers to a natural system by which energy is transmitted from one organism to another. In fact, a food chain consists of producers, consumers and decomposition. Presence of complex food web increase the stability of the ecosystem. Classical food chain theory arises from Lotka-Volterra model. In the present paper, the dynamics behavior of three level food chain is studied. A syst...
متن کاملPermanency and Asymptotic Behavior of The Generalized Lotka-Volterra Food Chain System
In the present paper a generalized Lotka-Volterra food chain system has been studied and also its dynamic behavior such as locally asymptotic stability has been analyzed in case of existing interspecies competition. Furthermore, it has been shown that the said system is permanent (in the sense of boundedness and uniformly persistent). Finally, it is proved that the nontrivial equilibrium point...
متن کاملUniqueness and Complete Dynamics in Heterogeneous Competition-Diffusion Systems
In this paper we study the interactions between diffusion and heterogeneity of the environment in the classical diffusive Lotka–Volterra competition systems. In the weak competition case, we establish the uniqueness, hence the global asymptotic stability, of coexistence steady states under various circumstances, and thereby we obtain a complete understanding of the change in dynamics when one o...
متن کاملBiodiversity, habitat area, resource growth rate and interference competition.
For the majority of species, per capita growth rate correlates negatively with population density. Although the popular logistic equation for the growth of a single species incorporates this intraspecific competition, multi-trophic models often ignore self-limitation of the consumers. Instead, these models often assume that the predator-prey interactions are purely exploitative, employing simpl...
متن کاملGlobal Hopf Branches and Multiple Limit Cycles in a Delayed Lotka-volterra Predator-prey Model
In recent studies, global Hopf branches were investigated for delayed model of HTLV-I infection with delay-independent parameters. It is shown in [8, 9] that when stability switches occur, global Hopf branches tend to be bounded, and different branches can overlap to produce coexistence of stable periodic solutions. In this paper, we investigate global Hopf branches for delayed systems with del...
